The CUNY Graduate School of Public Health and Health Policy (CUNY SPH) Human Research Protection Program (HRPP) assists the University in promoting high quality, ethical research. It does so by providing regulatory and administrative oversight of human subjects research conducted by SPH faculty, staff, and students across the School, including its programs and centers. The Office also provides educational support to SPH researchers and assists them in complying with federal, state, and University policies surrounding human subjects research.
The SPH HRPP Office is situated within the School’s Academic Affairs Department and is overseen by the Senior Associate Dean of Academic and Student Affairs. The HRPP Office is part of a consortium of 19 campus HRPPs across the University, all of which are under the auspices of the CUNY Central HRPP. The CUNY Central HRPP also oversees the review and conduct of research conducted by the University’s three federally registered University Integrated Institutional Review Boards (IRBs).
